Write together, and keep your file on your device

Invite a writer with their Risha account and write in the same project moment by moment, each in their own element. The project file stays on your device, syncing to the cloud is your choice, and Time Machine keeps every version for you.

One full unlimited month from the day you sign up, no card required.

The Guest MMaryamKKhaled Saved and synced
Two writers type at the same time in two different elements of the scene, then the bar announces the project is saved and synced, then Time Machine goes back to an older version so the newest additions disappear and return when it comes back to now.

Together, and safely

Co-writing should never mean losing your file, or losing a version of your script.

Co-writing: each in their own element, one script

Invite a writer with their Risha account to a cloud project; their name appears in the presence bar and their edits appear moment by moment, from their app or their browser. The element you are typing in right now is never touched by a remote edit.

  • Up to 12 writers in one project.
  • Co-writing is on for cloud projects, with an off switch.

Your file on your device, the cloud by choice

The desktop app saves your project as a .trf file on your device, and that file is the source of truth. Turn sync on and every save is uploaded to your account, so the project opens from any device and from Risha Online. Turn it off and your data stays on your device.

  • No cloud project opens on its own; you choose.
  • A save never overwrites a newer version from another device; it asks you first.

Time Machine: every version kept

The desktop app takes automatic backups on your device and shows them on a timeline. Go back to any version in place, with the same name and the same file, and before every restore a safety snapshot of the current state is kept.

  • The backups are on your device, not on a remote server.
  • Deleted by mistake? What is cut from the script goes to the Idea Graveyard as well.

Production tools when the script becomes a production

Lock scene numbers before the shoot so they stay fixed whatever you add or cut, mark revisions in the colours production expects with the revision star in the margin, and issue character and cast reports and a copy-protected PDF.

Writers' questions

Can my partner see my local file?

No. Co-writing is for the cloud projects you invite people to yourself. The local file stays with you until you upload it to your account and invite whoever you choose.

What if the connection drops while I'm writing?

In the desktop app you keep writing in your local file, and sync resumes when the connection returns without overwriting a newer version. Risha Online needs a connection because it works in the cloud.

Are backups taken automatically?

Yes, in the desktop app on your device, and you return to them from Time Machine. Cloud projects keep their snapshots in your account as well.
